The OT&W marks the start of a new year of train shows, and with the star of a new Year we wanted to do something new. For those of you who braved the storm, we hope you were rewarded by what you saw. We know that we certainly were. Your gasps of joy and that impromptu round of applause was music to our ears. With new scenes from Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean , Lord of the Rings, a new Zoo, the Bat Cave in LEGO City, and enhanced Oz Scene, and new trains we think we’ve brought out our “A” Game. what did you think?

The Great Train Expo is coming to Salt Lake City this week, and ULUG will be there to with the LEGO. If you’ve not seen the LEGO layout this year, this will be your last chance. if you have you can expect some changes. But if you wait till next year it will be all different. nothing will be the same.

World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour

This Year, The World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour is Coming to Utah. And it promises some great excitement, and fun for the whole family.
The Show will have an indoor ride on Thomas Train, Model Railroads from many local railroading clubs, Trains that both adults and kids can control, and Coming in at 20′ x 30′, Utah’s Largest (and to my knowledge only Public Lego Train display) . So whether you want to see our Lego display again, or are looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, the World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour promises to be a great time for one and all.

World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour
South Town Expo Center (9575 S State St, Sandy, UT 84070)
Registration — Registration purchased at the show (cash/check only)
Adults: $10.00 (good for both days)
Kids Under 16: FREE! (must be accompanied by a parent)
Saturday February 4th 10am to 6pm
Sunday February 5th 10am to 5pm
Hostlers Model Railroad Festival 2008

The Hostlers Model Railroad Festival 2008 will be held this weekend (February 29, March 1st&2nd) at the Ogden Union Station. We will have a display set up upstairs in the “Old Timers Room.” It is free to get in to see our LEGO layout, but the rest of the show will cost $5 to get in. We will have a huge layout, come check it out 
- Where: Ogden Union Staion, Old Timers’ Room (Mapquest link)
- When: February 29, 4 PM to 9 PM; March 1, 9:30 AM to 6 PM; March 2, 10 AM to 4 PM
- Cost: LEGO layout is free, rest of show $5, kids 12 and under are free.
Thanksgiving Point 2008

It’s about time for the train show at Thanksgiving Point! The show is being put on by the Ophir-Tinic & Western Model Railroad Club from January 25th to the 26th. The plan is to set up on the stage. We will have a great representation of LEGO Castle this time in addition to our already well established city and Space areas. Oh, and plenty of trains, too
