The Utah Lego Users Group has been accepted as an officially recognized LEGO Fan Community by the LEGO Group as a part of their LEGO Fan CoLab program. This means that we work closely with LEGO to share experiences with our local community at our events, and communicate the feelings and experiences of our members back to LEGO to help create even better experiences for LEGO fans.

The kinds of things that ULUG is already doing are exactly what LEGO is looking for in a fan community – creating opportunities for adult fans to get together and connect, taking LEGO builds out into the community, and providing hands-on experiences to the public.

The LEGO Fan CoLab program is replacing the LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN) program that served as an official bridge between fans communities, influencers, and official events and the LEGO company. You can learn more about the LEGO Fan CoLab program on their website.

BrickSlopes is the largest LEGO Fan Event in the mountain west and draws builders from across the globe to showcase their art. Being a hometown show, many ULUG builders naturally take their biggest and best creations to the convention, and have won multiple awards at the 2026 event.

2026 is the twentieth anniversary of the Utah Lego Users Group! Founded in 2006, ULUG has been actively connecting fans of the brick and sharing that passion with the community.

For BrickSlopes 2025, thirty-four ULUG members came together to build an up-scaled version of the classic LEGO pirate ship, the Black Seas Barracuda. At a 6-to-1 scale, the final ship was nearly 12 feet long, 5.5 feet wide, and 11 feet tall!

Each piece of the original 1989 set was rebuilt at six times the size, resulting in a giant ship that was assembled on-site using the original instructions. The ship also included up-scaled pirates, an up-scaled minifig mermaid for the front, and an upscaled classic LEGO monkey!

ULUG members Corey and Rebecca were contestants on Season 5 of LEGO Masters! Corey and Rebecca did exceptionally well on the season, reaching the semifinals and winning the Motion challenge with an impressive build featuring moving figures dancing the twist. Their first build paid homage to their Utah roots, including a giant arch and ski slope.
